Ethiopian Rift Valley Lakes and Omo Valley along with South Cultural People

This tailor-made trip provides to tourists the combination of natural and cultural attraction of more than ten tribes along with the Mago national park, Lake Chamo, the lower Omo valley and river and two cultural markets of lower Omo valley.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Addis Ababa

Arrive at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. Be met and welcomed by coffee Tours representative and transferred in hotel. Few hours refresh yourself in the hotel and city tour of Addis Ababa. The city tour includes: The national musium which explains the country's attraction sites, St. George Cathedral the oldest church in Addis Ababa, Entoto top view, the open air market of Mercato.

Day 2

Arba Minch to Jinka

In the morning flight to Arba Minch (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday). The land cruisers will wait the clients at the airport and few hours tea and coffee stops. Drive to Jinka; visit the Tsemai and Ari ethnic groups and their fascinating culture. Overnight Jinka in resort hotel.

Day 3

Jinka to Marbo to Turmi

After breakfast leave Jinka and drive to Mago National Park. Visit the Mursi village and appreciate the culture of Mursi people whose females put lip plates on their lower lip. Drive to Turmi on the way visit the colorful market of south Omo valley peoples if the days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Satuday.

Day 4

Karo and Hammer Tribes

After breakfast drive to the village of Karo the Nilotic language group those under endangered to be extinct. The Karo are famous for body painting and pircing the lower lip with needle and put straw as a decoration. Drive back to Turmi and after lunch few hours rest in the lodge and visit the Hammer language group. The Hammer is the Omotic language group and the most populated group next to Ari. They are famous for their multi culture and local government system.

Day 5

Konso Tribe and Lake Chamo

In the morning drive to Arbaminch. On the way, visit the culture of Konso tribe who are the language group of Cushitic with their fascinating terracing cultivation. You will make a boat excursion on Lake Chamo. In the lake you will spot African Black Rhino, African crocodile, and different bird species.

Day 6

Arba Minch to Hawassa

Drive to Hawassa the capital of Southern Ethiopia with thermal spring water and Rift Valley Lake. On the way visit Dorze village who are Omotic language group and known for aristocratic nose shaped hut, wavering tradition and growing of false banana trees. Photo stops on the way.

Day 7

Hawassa to Aregash Lodge

Morning drive to Lake Hawassa to visit the local fish market and the lake birds such as Marabou stork, Hammer kop, kingfisher and more Ethiopian Coffee region and adapt the peoples culture and meet with Coffee Arabica producers farmers and plantation.

Day 8

Departure

Morning drive towards Addis Ababa via the rift valley lake regions.  Lunch at a lake side resort and before departure back to home.
